Feasting and The Word

I am taking a break from Facebook this month- and I need SOMETHING to do.  Instagram is my happy place and I realized I post mostly 2 things on there.  Food.  and the Bible.  Thus the thought came to me, I should do a new blog- Feasting and the Word.

I have an old food blog.. settings of silver.  Alas I have no idea what my email was that I used for that let alone the password.  I will bring some of my favorites over from there I think.  And maybe try to hang on to this password.

You can see my other blog Growing Fruit.  I blogged autism.. homeschooling.. curriculum  reviews.. and Jesus there.  I think I want this to be my happy place. Those other things weren't bad but Jesus and food.. they make me happy.  (The food probably shouldn't make me as happy as it does.)

Hey Siri

We look up EVERYTHING on the internet.  Use our phones for everything.  Everyone says to unplug but do we? This morning I was in the shower and thought, "I have to take my medicine in 20 minutes.  I can't say Hey Siri because I'm in the shower."   Another thought... how about "Hey God.  Can you remind me to take my medicine in 20 minutes?" Well guess what happened 20 minutes later (give or take).  I was walking out the door to get my locks trimmed and I hear that still small voice, "Hey take your medicine." no kidding.. no joke.. Got me thinking- maybe I should say Hey God more than Hey Siri.....

Coconut Crockpot Chicken-- C3

My very first post on my Setting of Silver blog was coconut crockpot chicken.  C3-- or C cubed.  It is more of a template than a recipe. Chicken+Coconut milk+Tomatoes.  Cook in slow cooker for 4-6 hours on hight and 8 hours on low. You can then do whatever spices you wish.  The original recipe I read said to add cumin but that is one spice I don't like.  I usually go Italian.  I often add dehydrated onions and for sure either chopped garlic or garlic powder. I also use chicken without the bones usually.  Sometimes the bones fall apart and that isn't good eats. So here ya go: 8-10 chicken  pieces (I remove the skin) 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes 1 15 oz can coconut milk.  (lite or regular but not sweetened.) Spices... Combine in slow cooker.  Cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 8 hours.  At the end I often add frozen veggies of some sort.  Peas are great!  Asparagus.. broccoli.  Seriously it is a blank ca...
