It Isn't That Hard...

Today while out and about we passed a young man we had traveled by many times.  He is out on the corner asking for help.  I had to do a Michigan left and by the time I was on the opposite corner I saw another young man approaching him.  And then this happened.....






It really got me to thinking.. this looks beautiful.  Often when you think about praying for a stranger you think .. wow that could be awkward.  But I just think wow.. that looks like a real blessing!   Why are we so afraid to step out.

And in an interesting coincidence, the next day a leader in our church posted an article he had written on how to approach a stranger to pray for them.  JonMark Baker (author of the article)  prays for people all the time and this article is a nice little "how to".    JonMark has a FB page where he posts some of his adventures.

 I wonder who God is setting me up for...

We look up EVERYTHING on the internet.  Use our phones for everything.  Everyone says to unplug but do we? This morning I was in the shower and thought, "I have to take my medicine in 20 minutes.  I can't say Hey Siri because I'm in the shower."   Another thought... how about "Hey God.  Can you remind me to take my medicine in 20 minutes?" Well guess what happened 20 minutes later (give or take).  I was walking out the door to get my locks trimmed and I hear that still small voice, "Hey take your medicine." no kidding.. no joke.. Coconut Crockpot Chicken-- C3

My very first post on my Setting of Silver blog was coconut crockpot chicken.  C3-- or C cubed.  It is more of a template than a recipe. Chicken+Coconut milk+Tomatoes.  Cook in slow cooker for 4-6 hours on hight and 8 hours on low. You can then do whatever spices you wish.  The original recipe I read said to add cumin but that is one spice I don't like.  I usually go Italian.  I often add dehydrated onions and for sure either chopped garlic or garlic powder. I also use chicken without the bones usually.  Sometimes the bones fall apart and that isn't good eats. So here ya go: 8-10 chicken  pieces (I remove the skin) 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes 1 15 oz can coconut milk.  (lite or regular but not sweetened.) Spices... Combine in slow cooker.  Cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 8 hours.  At the end I often add frozen veggies of some sort.  Peas are great!  Asparagus.. broccoli.  Seriously it is a blank ca...
