To do or not to do.. that is the question..

I wrote the following blog back at the end of August.  Since that time so much has rocked our world. I never did publish it but I think God gave it to me so I would have it to look back on at this moment. Do you ever do that with journaling?  Ok here is the original:

So much going on here.  It is hard to focus on the Word.  And there are so many teachings out there on what this or that means in the Bible.   Sometimes you have to just read it yourself ;). A verse keeps coming to mind;

for every animal of the forest is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills.  Psalms 50:10.

The whole Psalm is beautiful and a reminder that God needs NOTHING from us.  He CHOOSES us. He chose us before the foundation of the World ... (Ephesians 1:4.  The whole chapter is so good.). So why.. why does he choose us?  The surrounding passages to this answer some of that:


3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he[b]predestined us for adoption to sonship[c] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he[d] made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

We have a calling.  But it is not a to-do list for God.  Again, he needs nothing.  We are his sons and daughters.  and IN LOVE he adopted us.  We BECOME holy and blameless.  That is who we are.  You know those stamps that say "made in the USA."  Well we have a stamp on our hearts that say we are  made in his image of God.

Again he needs nothing from us yet we give him EVERYTHING.  Because he is our Daddy.  Our Father.  Our Lord.

We look up EVERYTHING on the internet.  Use our phones for everything.  Everyone says to unplug but do we? This morning I was in the shower and thought, "I have to take my medicine in 20 minutes.  I can't say Hey Siri because I'm in the shower."   Another thought... how about "Hey God.  Can you remind me to take my medicine in 20 minutes?" Well guess what happened 20 minutes later (give or take).  I was walking out the door to get my locks trimmed and I hear that still small voice, "Hey take your medicine." no kidding.. no joke.. Got me thinking- maybe I should say Hey God more than Hey Siri.....

Coconut Crockpot Chicken-- C3

My very first post on my Setting of Silver blog was coconut crockpot chicken.  C3-- or C cubed.  It is more of a template than a recipe. Chicken+Coconut milk+Tomatoes.  Cook in slow cooker for 4-6 hours on hight and 8 hours on low. You can then do whatever spices you wish.  The original recipe I read said to add cumin but that is one spice I don't like.  I usually go Italian.  I often add dehydrated onions and for sure either chopped garlic or garlic powder. I also use chicken without the bones usually.  Sometimes the bones fall apart and that isn't good eats. So here ya go: 8-10 chicken  pieces (I remove the skin) 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes 1 15 oz can coconut milk.  (lite or regular but not sweetened.) Spices... Combine in slow cooker.  Cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 8 hours.  At the end I often add frozen veggies of some sort.  Peas are great!  Asparagus.. broccoli.  Seriously it is a blank ca...
