Something Unexpected

 I have a friend that posts all her walking pictures.  She lives in a a beautiful area and meanders different places all the time.  I have two walking routes.. and another that I drive to.  Not much in the way of variety but  I saw this muddled up chalk drawing and snapped a pic.  I don't think this was the original drawing but I thought it was lovely.  I don't know.  Do I reach for deeper meaning or just enjoy?  I thought.. maybe I should ask God to show me something unexpected on each walk.  





Today I planned on going for a walk when I got the kid settled in on a Zoom; but it was at that exact moment that it started to rain!!!  No matter ... it wasn't cold so it was kind of fun.  I kept my "eyes peeled" for something unexpected.  I saw leaves changing but that was expected.  I kept looking.  Then at the end of the walk it hit me.   The rain silly!!!   Again- deeper meaning?  IDK.  Maybe the whole exercise is to just keep your eyes, heart and mind open for what God wants to show you out of the ordinary.  Especially with people.   In this day and age of not being able to see as many people and be up close and personal sometimes you have to be extra attentive.  Hopefully this little nature exercise will translate to seeing what God wants me to see in other people.

We look up EVERYTHING on the internet.  Use our phones for everything.  Everyone says to unplug but do we? This morning I was in the shower and thought, "I have to take my medicine in 20 minutes.  I can't say Hey Siri because I'm in the shower."   Another thought... how about "Hey God.  Can you remind me to take my medicine in 20 minutes?" Coconut Crockpot Chicken-- C3

My very first post on my Setting of Silver blog was coconut crockpot chicken.  C3-- or C cubed.  It is more of a template than a recipe. Chicken+Coconut milk+Tomatoes.  Cook in slow cooker for 4-6 hours on hight and 8 hours on low. You can then do whatever spices you wish.  The original recipe I read said to add cumin but that is one spice I don't like.  I usually go Italian.  I often add dehydrated onions and for sure either chopped garlic or garlic powder. I also use chicken without the bones usually.  Sometimes the bones fall apart and that isn't good eats. So here ya go: 8-10 chicken  pieces (I remove the skin) 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes 1 15 oz can coconut milk.  (lite or regular but not sweetened.) Spices... Combine in slow cooker.  Cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 8 hours.  At the end I often add frozen veggies of some sort.  Peas are great!  Asparagus.. broccoli.  Seriously it is a blank ca...
